Rights Matter – Make Your Voice Heard

The IFA is pleased to announce that the 15th Global Conference on Ageing will take place in Niagara Falls, Canada from 1-3 November 2020.  With the central theme of “Rights Matter” the goal of the Conference is to bring together expertise from around the world and highlight the actions that have and continue to be taken in promoting the rights of older people since last meeting in 2018.  This will involve developing strong relationships, translating best practices, and sharing new research findings that impact the health and wellbeing of people globally.

Under the umbrella of “Rights Matter” the Conference is divided into four themes: Addressing Inequalities, Age-Friendly Environments, Combating Ageism and Enabling Functional Ability.  While there are undoubtably many ways in which topics overlap, these four themes highlight distinct areas where research and policy interventions are being undertaken to improve the lives of older people.  It is also under these themes that prominent experts from around the world will convene to present and discuss emerging critical issues within the field of ageing. With the aim of responding to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the WHO Global Strategy and Action plan, how can delegates make their voices heard?  Abstract submission is now open for the 15th Global Conference on Ageing and those interested in presenting their work are encouraged to submit!  Each of the four conference themes is further divided into three sub-themes and submitted abstracts must fall within these important areas of work.  Delegates can submit to present a symposium, workshop, paper and/or poster and abstracts will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis until 1 August 2020.  More information on the abstract submission process and the conference themes and sub-themes is available here.
